We currently have an exciting opportunity for a School Business Manager (HR and Finance) to join our team at Patchway Community College. This role is offered on a full time, all year round basis.

Reporting to our Head of Business Operations, with general direction and supervision received on a daily basis from the Headteacher, you will be the main provider of financial, HR and administrative services to the school. You will be an integral part of the School and a key point of contact for staff and the Trust’s central operations team, ensuring the effective management and back office operation of the school on a day to day basis. There will be a high level of personal responsibility for the delivery of the school’s financial and administrative systems as well as the provision of first line HR processes and guidance and you will be expected to use initiative to anticipate requirements and deal with situations as they arise. This role will provide direct management/supervision to the school Finance team and indirect supervision of the School Administrators and School Admin Officers. 

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of the effective management of multiple tasks within a busy and fast-paced office environment with high interruption levels, combined with demonstrable and extensive knowledge of financial control including budget management and the ability to translate and interpret information. You will have exceptional standards of literacy, accuracy and numeracy skills and be able to work quickly and efficiently with minimum supervision.

You will be able to demonstrate previous experience of working successfully within a HR setting and be able to evidence your competence, understanding and application of Employment Legislation and HR processes and practices to manage day to day employee issues.

First class communication skills and the ability to build effective and appropriate relationships with children and adults is essential, as is your ability to work collaboratively and constructively as part of a team and with a wide range of audiences, understanding school roles and responsibilities.

You will hold a NVQ level 4 or equivalent relevant qualification with a financial element and Certificate or Diploma in School Business Management and/or CIPD qualification would be highly desirable.
